Every winter I go through the cracked heel syndrome. To tell the truth - the older I get my heels stay that way more and more. And being pre-diabetic, my poor feet are looking and feeling pretty sorry more and more, so I went ahead and bought a heel shaver, a heel sander, Kerasal, and some aloe socks.
I sat there in front of the tv and shaved, and sanded away. We are talking about layers of dead skin and some pretty hefty calluses. It was not a pretty thing. After quite awhile I got down to a "first time" acceptable layer and sloshed on the Kerasal and stuck my foot puppies into the socks. I also then promptly vacuumed everything!
What a difference in just a few hours! Today I got into the garden tub (what a wonderful invention) and soaked my feet real well and then began to scrub off more of the dead skin off the top, sides, and achilles tendon side. I dried well and then slathered on some more Kerasal and stuffed the babies back into the socks. What a difference in appearance and feel already.
